Is it neccesary to turn the ears of a fox squirrel when using ez-100 and saftee acid, or are they thin enough to not need it ? Appreciate any advice.

You are going to want to turn the ears. They will look ragged if you don't. Be carful they tear real easy!
God Bless
Just card em & let em dry
Luke, there are as many opinions as there are people. To do the job right, I beleive it is best to turn the ears. You imply that you wish to do the best job possible by taking the time to tan instead of just using dry preservative. It took me several attempts to figure out how to do it without tearing them up, but I finally found out that if you take a very small straight screwdriver and gently press and wiggle between the skin and cartlidge it will open right up. Hold the ear with your thumb on the inside and your index finger around the outside of the ear and stick the blade of the screwdriver between them. You will be able to feel what the end of the screw driver is doing through the skin. You may ruin a couple, but you'll find out that it is really simple once you get the hang of it. Good Luck!
Thank you all for your opinions and advice i really appreciate all of your help.
I always just use Lee press-on nails. Put one in front of the ear and one behing and hold together with a paper clip.
Always seems to work for me.
