after mounting i noticed that if i pulled on the hair some would come out. not in big clumps, but enough to make me nervous. I've mounted about 75 deer and never really noticed it before. Is this normal, and will it tighten up as it dries?

I have one question for you. Why in the hell are you pulling on the hair? Get it mounted, adjusted, and let it dry. It may tighten up, and it may not. Put a fan on it, and dont pull anymore hair out.
My question would be how was it tanned? This is a very big issue to me, as well as others! I do not like DP methods or even spray tan. I like a "truley" tanned skin! This raised a big argument in the forum unfortunately. If you want my opinion I will tell otherwise one question at a time!
It happens with some capes. May be the hunter's fault. May be yours that the hair is a little loose. But doesn't sound too bad. If it's wet on the hair side I'd blow dry the hair, mount it, let a fan blow on it. When it dries out completely the hair should be tight. I KNOW YOU'RE PULLING THE HAIR TO SEE IF IT'S EVEN WORTH MOUNTING. Lotsa folks have a coniption over that sort of thing... but I (like your mother) understand Dave.
