I know this is question that has been asked and answered out there somewhere sometime but ----deer hide has been in pickle maybe 2 weeks --- just haven't had block of time to get to Nuetralize , tan and oil yet so how long can hide stay in pickle before something negative happens?

I think as long as you maintain your pH between 1.5 to 2 it should be alright. I have left my capes in the pickle longer than I anticipated and haven't lost a cape for that reason yet.
thank ye kindly for the info. just picked up tester a couple days ago to use in tanning solution. will go home and test pickle and pray I got it right. if below 1.5-- add baking soda? or vinegar? I have instructs at home. again merci'
I would not be as concerned about low pH as much as readings over 2. You may certainly use the baking soda to raise it or add pickling solution to lower it.
