Can a skin be left in Krowtann too long?

Hi Guys. I have a few squirrels that I want to krowtann but am leaving on vacation for 10 days. Can I put em in, stir and reposition for 2 days, then leave em alone for 9 days in the solution without ill effects? I know with a pickle it would be fine as long as the PH was below 2 but not sure on this stuff. Normally, I would do these when I returned but I leave again 48 hours after I get back for a 7 week trip to Texas and wanted to have some squirrels to mount while I am sitting in my hotel room twiddling my thumbs. Thanks!

Freeze them

Why not just take them out after 2 days and throw them in the freezer.

Is 2 days long enough?

Is 2 days long enough for a squirrel or would I have to put them back in the tan when I returned? I guess I could salt em and krowtann right in the hotel room. Should make housekeeping happy :)

Process it before you leave

Leave it there for a day and a half, finish the fleshing, wash and freeze it. Go on vacation and have a good time. A squirrel is thin and Krowtann should tan it in that amount of time. Call Brian Harness at Ozark Woods if you are too concerned.

Great

Great case for the auto-tanner! You could have these done in hours.
