When salting a hide can you use any kind of salt or is their a certain kind I need to use?

salt with out iodide
and it doesn't really matter, the non-iodine kind is cheaper, if you are just trying this out go to wal-mart and get a couple of 4lb boxes of table salt, that will work. If you have a lot to do go to the local feed store/ TSC and get a 50# bag of stock salt.
