Can Lutan F go stale?

About a year ago I bought a quantity of Lutan F and over the summer it seems to have hardened while being stored in my basement. Im sure I should have secured it in an air tight container but another lesson learned. I am interested in trying McKenzies new brush on tan but Im operating on a tight budget and since I have gotten a good tan using Lutan F my money would be better spent on some other materials, tools and equipment.
My question is is my Lutan F still good? Has it lost any of its properties by becoming hard?
I have several skins to be tanned this year and if its still good I can use it up before I try the McKenzie brush on tan. I dont want to damage or ruin the skins I have so I would appreciate any imput on this subject. Thanks in advance.

I had some crystalize, I chipped it out and weighed as usual, dissolved it in hot water, and it worked fine,.. the key is not to let it harden in the first place, keep the fresh lutan in a covered plastic pail and store in a low humidity area.
