How dry do capes have to be before you can send them to the tannery? I have some capes that have been salted and drying for 2-3 weeks, some are pretty stiff & other are partially stiff-- is this dry enough? None of the capes feel wet at all. Thanks for the help!

You want to make sure that your hides are completely dry as some tannerys,
when they store your hides, will not do any extra drying for you, if they are wet,
which increases the odds that they will fall apart. If they are wet for any
length of time, they will basically rot the hair roots if it is a while until
they are tanned. Rolled up in a box, crate, or bin, if they are wet, is not good
for your hides. Make sure they are dries completely before you send them to your
tannery.
