degreasing

when tanning fox and coyote do they have to go back in the pickle after they have been degreased. can i pickle a few days, shave, then pickle another day, degrease, neutralize and then tan or do i need to pickle again after the degrease.

on a fox or coyote your step's are important,
flesh
salt
pickel
shave
degrease for about 30-40 min
repickel
nutrulize
tan

You must put your hide back into the pickle for at least an hour ( if
in a hurry), or preferably overnight before tanning. On especially
greasy hides (as many coyote and fox are) I degrease for four hours
or five. This give you a much better hide in the end, one less greasy.

May I ask what you use to degrease it. And is it degreased in a separate contained from the pickle. Thanks


super solvent

i use Rittels super solvent and it most definetly needs to be seperate from the pickle
