Stop Rot on fox ears

i am having problems of fur coming off of ears on coyotes and fox, im not turning the ears. is this a must or will stop rot work in some way? thanks vince

YOU MUST TURN THE EARS COMPLETELY. HANDLE EARS WITH SURGICAL GLOVES ON TO REDUCE HEAT BEING TRANSFERED FROM YOUR HANDS TO THE EARS. HEAT AND MOISTURE ARE A TAXIDERMIST'S NIGHTMARE.

I'm assuming you are pickling these skins, and the trouble is after that. Could you be more specific as to what you are doing? Green skins, air dried, salt dried? Why are the ears not turned? Freezer burned? Are you having difficulty with turning ears?
