I rented a book from the library called,"Tan your hide" in there is a recepe involving alum, washing soda and salt, I was just wondering if it works, Thanks!

I'll shoot you straight pard, this tan method does work.I've used it for rabbit hides and as a paste to do a deer hide.However, it does produce a somewhat stiff hide that is appropiate for wall hangings or table decorations only and will not suffer exposure to water/Moisture gladly.Hope this is of help to you,Delamar820@hotmail.com.
