What kind of tan would you use for BISON? I thought of LUTAN,,but wanted to ask you all what your opinion is..Thank you,,Larry

the only problem with a thick hide like buffalo is shaving it down just to get the salt to dry the hide. Never mind the weight and hair gromming, I leave that job to the tanneries.
If you want it for a rug or robe - then your first choices should be either EZ-100 or Chrome tan. Both are washable - Alum and Lutan arent. And lets face it - rugs and robes can get wet or damp depending upon where and how they are used. You or your customer will
need a washable tan to keep them clean.
