I just tanned some caribou capes in my auto tanner for the first time. I used the crystals that came with the machine and the capes are as flexable as raw skins and I was just wondering if it's really neccessary to oil these skins. Also there is no mention in the directions about neutralizing with this formula. Is this also unnesssary. Thanks

I recommend oiling. Mainly because it says to in the instructions I was given. I would not want to take the chance of not oiling. Better to be safe than sorry.

Oiling fills the fibers that have been flush of all thair natual fluids.A must for good leather.
you only need to oil if you are duing a dry tan as in a rug. You do not oil if you are wet tanning,as in tanning and mounting.
