I have the opportunity to mount some buffalo and from what I've read in the archives this is one animal I definitely don't want to home tan. I'm just looking for some advice on a good tannery to send these critters to. I left my email so you can write me with your personal opinions if you could. Thanks

There are very few tanneries left out there that will even mess with them.
but I do know that Modern Fur Dresser's out of Lesslie, Mich. do them and are awesome at tanning thm. Give Roger Smith a call.

Carolina Fur dressers also does a fine job as well.

Good Luck,

We tan buffalo hair on and hair off. They will be very soft and supple with plenty of stretch with no matting. We offer wet and dry tans for the capes. We have a 8-10 week turn around time on Buffalo, Cow, Zebra life size. All other skins are 6-8 weeks.

We have been in the same location for 29 years and the owner has been tanning for over 50 years. Our knife men have been working in this tannery for 17, 15, 12 years respectively this means no holes from shaving. If you are interested please email or call us for a list of references.

Thanks and have a great day!

Give Roger a call at 517-589-5575. I've delt with him for 20 plus years and haven't had any problems. He tanned my buffalo just fine.
