I am using the safety acid pickle method....1 deer cape, 5 gallons of water, 2 1/2oz of safety acid, and 5lbs of uniodized salt. I usually keep the PH of the pickle between 1.5 and 2.5, my questions are, what is the salimeter used for, how do i use it, and do i need to use it using the safety acid pickle. The salinometer is put in your solution and allowed to float which will give you a reading of your salt content. Just put it in to check that your solution is 40% or a little higher and take it out. I try to keep my Saftee Acid ph below 2, preferably 1.5.
