tanning ?

when tanning thin skin furs,can i take them out of the pickle after 3 days then degrease and wash and then go straight to neutralizing ?i will not be shaving them,so is puting them back in the pickle for an additional 2 weeks important?thanks

I would like to know what pickling acid are you using that requires the hide to be in it for 2 weeks? MichelleW

im using saftee acid

I use Saftee Acid and you don't need to keep it in there for two more weeks. Not sure where you got this from but all you need is to soak for another 24 hours and your ready to drain and neturlize. From there you can tan.

Can you use water from Peat Bogs to "Vegetable Tan" hides/pelts.
Does it contain enough tannin?
Does it contain any other chemicals which may harm the skin?
How can i measure for presence of Tannin ?
How can i measure Tannin levels?
