seeing hair roots when thinning

I have read articals that guys say they like to shave the capes as thin as the arm-pit area on the capes ,that really thin .I have treid to shave my capes that thin but I get nervice when I start to see the hair roots. Is that a bad thing to see the roots?

Just make sure you do not cut through the roots, like on tthe whiskers on the face. Also if you shave to thin on the hide itself the hair could fall out in that area where you fleshed to thin, you have to find some kind of happy-medium.

how do guys get them that thin

Are those guys that clam to shave really thin feeding everyone full of B.S. or is there a secret to it?
