i usually salt after fleshing and shake the salt off the next day, and do a little more fleshing ,and resalt. the day after that i will shake the salt off again and resalt once again . this salt i will leave on until the hide is dry and hard then i will rehydrate before the pickle,,,,,,,,,,,oh yeah and alway lay your hide on a board that is at an angle so that the body fluids will drain away from the hide,,,,,hope this helps,,,,jim
