Yes they work and work well.
as for saving you money, yes you can pay for it pretty quickly.
But would you rather be mounting or fleshing?
You can make money tanning with them. a few years back I was tanning capes for some taxidermist, I could turn out four to six capes per
day. Thats 200.00 to 300.00 per day. depending on how hard you want to work.
Jason, yea i agree with john i got mine a few months ago.
and don't know how i did without it.
After being unhappy with a wholesale Fur Dresser I bought an Auto tanner. Total waste of $ I contacted a Fur Dresser in Michigan (H&H Fur Dressing)and couldn't be more pleased. I saw an ad for them about a year ago in Breakthrough or Taxidermy Today. You may want to check them out before you buy a machine, at least you'll have something to compair to. Good luck!
The auto tanner is what makes my business boom. Guys love the turn around time. I take capes out of the freezer thaw flesh and tan in two days the end of the week they get mounted and two weeks later they are out the door. This meens my profit is in hand. I have 3 deer left to do out of 20 from this year. two are tanned and ready to mount they will be mounted this week. One more deer there done for the season. Also have completed 1 LS bear 1 shoulder mount bear and 1 bear rug. carabou, 3 coyotes 2 Bob cats 1 bobcat pedestal 1 coyote pedestal. I should be very ready for turkey season in May. Not taking on fish yet. The auto tanner is the only way to go if your willing to work. If you want to play and live off deposits while you wait for the tannery then go for it. But profit comes from mounts going out not coming in. Just my opinion Jack F
I also fleshed and tanned 5 other deer capes for another taxidermist. I did two flat deer skins, two bobcat flat skins. Tanned 3 coyotes for the other taxidermist.
