I have a customer who went to Alaska to hunt Griz.
He was succesful with a very nice boar
He wants a lifesize mount for his mueseum
He decided to leave his hide in Alaska to be tanned(per his guides advice) Almost a year later the hide arrived, dry tanned, rock hard with no pads on any of the feet.
The hunter and myself informed the tanner( when it was dropped off) that we wanted a wet tan and we were doing a life size mount.
He told us that everyone cuts the pads off
Anyone else have this problem?

Cutting the pads off would be ok for a rug or a mount standing on all fours, but you need them for any foot that shows the bottom of the feet.
Call the tanner and maybe they can send you some.
