where and what names of salt can i get at local feed stores? i have three bags of ranch house feed mix salt any body know of this?. and do you need to pickle when using liqua-tan or McKenzies new tan, iknow it says recomended but is is nessacary thanks for any info

I use the same salt. If there is anything else I to would like to know.
We carried morton's salt, the kiln dried and the kleer(that is the correct spelling). Kleer is the better one. We also had Moab solar dried, it was even coarser than morton's kleer but i never tried it. We also had American Stockman solar dried, it too was coarse but i never tried it either. Any salt at any feed store is perfectly fine for pickles or animals to be mounted.
As far as needing to pickle before applying McKenzie tan. Yes you need to pickle, in my opinion the pickle is the most important part.
salt is salt as long as it's 99.9% pure. differnt part of the country will bag the same salt in thair brand name.
