I am looking for info. on how to preserve an alligator hide. I have recently skinned and lightly fleshed it and placed it in the freezer. On beaver and other mammals, I use salt and borax after fleshing to cure the hide while the fur is pinned to a board. Will the same method work for the alligator? If not, what can I do to help preserve the hide. If it helps, the gator is 5 feet long. Thanks
