when using an acid pickle, how long will the hide be safe in the pickle if i keep the PH correct? The reason I ask is I'm shaving by hand and I'm limited on the amount of time i have to work on it. Is it ok to work on shaving for about an hour or two and return it to the pickle?

This is in the archives, but I have elk,bear coyote and deer hides that have been in the FORMIC ACID pickle since 1997 maybe even 1996. I checked them last week, stuck back in the corner of the basement, I had not bothered them in 12 months and they are fine!
