I just aquired a gas drier , plugged all the wholes and slowed the drum speed down. my question is it has 3- 2 1/2 inch paddles in it now should I leave them all in or what . how many paddles are in the plastic drums that you buy from suplyers?
Thanks

You have to put them in or buy the adapters. Good luck on your drier.
I know I need paddles in it , or it wont tumble. my question is it has three factory paddles in it now should i leave them all or do I only need one? Please help I dont want to beat up my birds . I am getting tired up putting corn cob in a blown up garbage bag and rolling it around .I dont have the time any moor. Also I see some of you put there birds in bags to prevent damage and loss of corn cob , put aside the mess with the corect # paddles in it damage the birds . I always remove my tails .
I would think that would work as long as it tumbles. I think HOW FAST it is spinning is the big thing. I built my own as well, I took a 30 gallon barrel and put 4 paddles in it that are about 1 7/8 to 2 inches I hooked it up to a Zero Max 1 horse motor that came off of a Metal Lathe and I can adjust it to any speed I want. From Zero to MAX, The motor is over kill but it was FREE. I built the thing for about 30 bucks with 2 bearings I got at a garage sale. Well anyway. I would say give a shot with an extra skin and see what happens. Anything is better then the garbage bag trick.
Our Factory tumbler is about 20 years old and it has 4 paddles. It also turns at about 30 rpm if I remember correctly. I am not at that shop today I am at my shop other wise I would go check.
Good luck.

Am using a ceiling fan speed controler " reostat " to adjust the speed it does the same thing as the zero max thing ,
