Since an Auto Tanner is simply a Wet Drum on a smaller sized scale - simply use an Aluminum Sulphate formula but cut back on the water used. Here is the formula I used to use very successfully for Wet Drumming using Aluminum Sulphate!

For every 1 Lb. of wet drained skin weight, mix:

1 Quart of Water
2 Ozs. of Salt
1.6 Ozs. of Aluminum Sulphate
Use Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) to adjust the PH to a 3.8.

is this a tan

Is the above ingredients an actual tan that can be used in the autotanner and would this work well for foxes and cats. also do you need to pickle the hides when useing this formula. thanks
