I've been using Krowtann 2000 for Squirrel skins and haven't had any problems till this last batch.
I normally mix up the amount given for doing one life size bobcat which is half the amount directed for a deer cape to tan five to eight squirrel skins at the same time. They are then neutralized afterward as directed, rinsed, shampooed and then frozen. I then proceed to mount them as time permits. On this latest batch of eight squirrels as I mount them I'm having a lot of hairs coming off, not gobs but more hair than ever before. These were all taken care of properly in the field, this I know because I harvested them.
I think what I might have done but I'm not sure is I mixed the ingredients in twice the amount of water I should have used. (Water amount for a deer cape but salt and Krowtann in the amount given for bobcat.) Since the last two are still in the freezer and they are the best ones of the lot I'd like to know if I can re-tan these over again, making sure to use the right ratio of ingredients, (DUH) as if these were green or would this really make the hair fall out. I'd really like to have these last two be the best that they can be.
Thank you for your input.

Don't take anyones word for it call the company and get the right answer.
God Bless
I did call the company right after posting and was told it shouldn't hurt to re-tan.
I'm curious if anybody has tried this with Krowtann and if they had good or bad results. I know there are a lot of variables when it comes to tanning results. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works.
Thank you for responding.
Great luck with it here.
