Can someone help me out
I need to know how to clean the tanning oil from the hair when I mount.
How much oil is enough after the hide comes out of the auto tanner?
im alway afraid im not using enough oil, then I end up with oily sticky hair.

Thanks
Carl

I had the same problem as you. So I just oiled them after I took them out of the tanner. Problem solved.

When I have deer capes in the tanner I add 1/4 cup of oil to the tank on the last step. After tumbling 20-30 mins. in hardwood sawdust and grit the capes come out great. However, on mammals I have started painting on the oil 3-4 hrs. before tumbling. It has made a difference on how the hide fluffs up when finishing.

Good Luck
