humidity and drying skins

due to the constant humidity here in missouri i am haveing difficulty geting a squirrel and rabbit hide to dry stiff so i can go on to the next step in the tanning process. any one know any tricks? i have salted these hides repeatedly and have them in a air conditioned space .....help! thax fred

Get yourself a dehumidifier, and put this in the room your drying your skins.

I use a fan to assist in drying during salting

I use a fan to assist in drying during salting. I built myself an inclined salting table that has 1 inch wood strips running from top to bottom in 6 inch increments. I built a small mounting base at the top of the incline in the center of the table and mounted an oscillating fan on it so it will constantly blow air onto the salted hides. I can completely dry deer capes in a week and I am in Northeast Florida near the coast where the humidity is horrible.
