Why would you got through such a goatrope?

Why would you shave, salt, shave, salt and THEN put it in a brine mixture. It's a very simple, up front tan and you're trying to make it complicated.

Do as the directions state. Flesh the chunks off, salt OVERNIGHT (only once), pickle the hide, shave the hide, pickle again, neutralize, paint on the tan and let set a minimum of 6 hours and either mount or freeze after washing the tanning solution off. NEVER LET THE HIDE "SEMI-DRY" or the solutions won't penetrate.

If you don't want to pickle, simply salt overnight, wash the salt off, flesh, and then paint the tan on for 6 hours. That's NOT their recommended way, but it will work.

You need to do some serious studying about proper tanning procedures.

THANKS
