I am tanning a bear skin. It was frozen for about 6 weeks (not salted). I thawed and completely fleshed the skin and have double salted it. Does it need to completely dry before proceding with the pickle, or can it go in after 24 hours of salt?

You do not have to wait until the hide is completely dry. In fact I think it kinda sucks to wait that long. I prefer to let the hide dry out an additional 24 hrs after the second salting. The skins seem to relax and flesh better.
