Cleaning Already Tanned Hides?

I just aquired from a friend a tanned albino raccoon hide. It's in pretty bad shape. It's filthy and stinky from hanging on a wall for the last 15 years in a smokers office. Is there any way to clean it up? Thanks. Carrie

I am not sure if this will clean out the smoke or not. But I do this on my mammal mounts if they come out greasy or oily looking. I just wash them with Pert shampoo. I stick them right under the faucet and scrub. I then blow them dry with my smal shop vac and finish it off with a hair dryer. Not sure what type of tan was used on your raccoon but you might give it a try. Also all the years of smoke the stain might be set in already. But it is worth a try.
