There are several ways to rehydrate and this forum has covered most of them. However I have learned the fastest and most $ effecent way is to soak in water and Kemal4. this will rehyd. and allow you to do a light fleshing before placing in a pickling solution and proceeding in the normal fashion. This process was learned recently do to a customer bringing in a flint dried hide for mounting. The mount is now completed and we got excellent strech without any slippage.
