Bruce, what all oils can be used with your EZ~100 tan? I am using Protal and have 8 gallons,it mixes with water also like Pro PLus,but the tan is not as good as what it should be,(AND I know ITS good STUFF).I am salt curing, and relaxing bath, then pickling with Safety then mixing the EZ~100 like instructions say and measuring all it scales so its accuracte.Just did a badger and its seems like to me 2 oiings, but I have seen on oilng sometime when it appeared to have wet spots that broke own and leather tore from soaking to mch oil? not sure,,Larry

Too thick Too thin

Are you tanning for flat hides or lifesize mounts? It sounds maybe that you are shaving real thin in some spots and not thin in others. I use protal also and I really don't care for it. If you can find someone that likes protal maybe you can sell it and get some proplus. I am thinking of switching oils too. How are you breaking the hides?

Aww I havehad excellant results with the Protal, but I shave with a Dakota fleshng knife and ove it on coon badger and deer hides, but not sure what to think. All that hide on the badger was shaved even,So I still have question? 1 oz(EZ~100) per gallon of water on tanning agent used,,2 ozs for that badger should be enough.Larry
