Rattlesnake skin

I have some skins and was told to freeze them until I had the opportunity to work with them? Is this correct or will they be damaged? I was also told I could use anti freeze on the skins. Please advise.

the advice on the freezing the skins until you get to do them was a good one. You always want to freeze hides and skins until you have the time to work on them or they'll rot away in the meantime.

A definite no on the antifreeze. This is an old homeremedy people used in the old days. If you want a mediocre product that won't last long go with the antifreeze, if you want it done right get a snake tanning kit from any of the taxidermy supply company. The kits come complete with tanning solution and tanning oil as well as instructions on how to use it.

Make sure you flesh the snakeskin thouroughly before tanning it.
