Well, I recieved a salted Springbok shoulder cape to do for myself, and I was wondering; are any steps different to rehydrating this skin as opposed to a whitetail or muley thats been salted? After searching through the archives, I have come to find most people are horrified when it comes to African game.. I was planning on rehydrating it and giving it a go in Krowtann to see how well it comes out, unless there is a better option for these skins..
So any advice for a rookie when it comes to working on skins of this nature? I don't really want to send it out for a commercial tan if I don't HAVE to. I would rather do it so I have a little control over it. If anyone has any experience tanning their own african hides, please respond! Also, any tips for mounting this beastie would be great as well!
Thanks!

1.Rehydrate it in water and anti bac. Only do not ad salt for the best result.
2.Pickle
3.After pickle, you could use any taning agent as you like. I use lutan F.
4. Dont forget to nutralize.
