Old School Deer Hide

Can anyone please tell me how i can tan a deer hide without the use of chemicals? I'm really interested in tanning like they did in the "old days".

Hemlock bark tanning or pickle in a search engine or library. I hope you have access to a hemlock stand! Or you can by Bark tan from Van Dyke's.

I don't know why you what chemical-less tan. It never existed. Also a lot of "old time tans" were just pickles! Hope this helped.
