Did a search on degreasing furs and didnt come up with much. My partner and I have been in the business for about a year now, weekends only, and have come across a couple of problems with the process of preping furs. We did a bobcat the same way as we do deer. Cape it, flesh and turn it, then salt, resalt and send it in. When we got it back from the tannery it had over 30 holes in the hide. So I went looking for a new tannery and talked extensively with North Idaho Fur Dressing ( great people ). He said something about degreasing the fur hides. I'm a little lost on the process now. Can someone help with the steps on cats or coyotes? Thanks so much for all the help in the past. Would also love a video on this topic (caping, fleshing)if anyone has any. Not interested in doing our own tanning but I want to send the capes in the right way.

Properly salt curing the hide should be all that is needed. Tannery will take care of degreasing.
