does anybody still use liquatan and if so do you dry your capes after tanning then rehidrate before mounting. I am debating on buying another freezer just for deer capes. I saw in coombs catalog that he does dry them after tanningand Im just wondering how people like this method
Thanks in Advance

Brent, still using the Liqua tan product with good results.
I shave my capes after formic acid bath, nutralize, than place in a 2 gallon zip lock bag and freeze. i take them out the day before, liqua tan and let them sit over nite.
I have done it both ways and feel this gives the cape more stretch than drying them out hard. (and less time and work overall)

There probally isn't a hide that I haven't used this product on and didn't get a bad result. It's a great product for any use. Now as far as drying them you can and rehydrate them with ease. I like to just wet tan them and then take them out of the freezer when I mount them up, or right after I tan them I will mount them up.
It just becomes a personal choice on what you would like to do. Try it both ways and see what you like and then stick to that method.
