I recently bagged my first bull elk and would like to have the hide tanned and something made from the leather. My uncle in Minnesota has used Uber Glove and Tanning Co. in Owatonna, MN and liked their work. He had a soft-sided rifle case made that turned out pretty nice. I was wondering if there are any similar operations that anyone would recommend, and perhaps any in Texas.
My hide is currently very well salted, but not very well fleshed. How clean does it need to be before I can send it out to one of these guys?
