if you wash the skin ,you will wash out the lutan.
The OLD type of ( KROME TAN ) the skin side would be greenish colour,
but you could wash the skins with no problem. Not sure if this is still available. Try Bruce Rittel and ask if any of his tanning is washable.

Rittels is completely washable. Lutan-F washes right out.

Lutan F is not washable!

Lutan F is not washable. Like Alum it will wash out - but unlike Alum it has a long shelf life! It doesnt contain Sulphate ions that recombine to form Sulphuric Acid and weaken the skin over time.

EZ-100 is washable up to 160 degrees. Chrome is washable up to 212 degrees. Those are your choices. Ordinarily hot tap water is 110 to 120 degrees Fahrenhiet. So both EZ-100 or Chrome can safely be called washable in your Washing Machine.
