Two questions

Okay here are two questions for the experts:

1. I do taxidermy as a hobby and have, until recently, bought already tanned skins that are prepped and ready to go. I recently got a button buck that I want to mount, it is skinned with the skull and feet still in which is no problem, but I do not have a fleshing beam/fleshing tool or machine, nor do I have a tumbler. I have heard that younger animals have a better chance of slipping because of the youth in the hair development. Would it be better for me to pay the money to have it tanned by a professional? I would like to give it a shot but question the tools that I have.

2. I have seen a lot of information on the Krowtan tanning formula and like the idea of the basic one step use. What about the Kwik-n-EZ formula from Rittels? I have Rittels EZ-4000 kit and have used it on snakes and it's great, just seeing if there is a more efficient way.

I have not done a button buck before so I would not be an expert on it as far as slipping goes. But I can tell you that I have been using the Krowtan on a couple of things and I really like it so far. I have used Rittels EZE 100 and I like it also but Krowtan is working out pretty well for me. I have not heard anyone say younger animals slip easier so I would give it a try. I have done young foxes and some other young'ns and had no problem.

Good luck
