I forgot to put the sodium bicarbonate in my rinse water when I took the deer hide out of the pickle. I let it soak for about 20 minutes and put it into the tan and later mounted it.
Any idea what's going to happen?
Thanks,
Bill

i would say that the deer hide will look good for a long time but it is STILL be acted upon by the acid - sooner or later that deer skin will disintegrate or at the least when it is touched go to pieces - had a mountain lion brot to me (tanned skin) tjat was as fragile as tissure paper (from this same happening)
I think you will find that your skins fell apart because they were taken across crop circles from the southeast to the northwest - it has something to do with the propulsion magnetic interrelational relays that drive alien spaceships - sorry for such a technical answer.
