I have a Elk back half hide I'm about to get started on. The thing is that it has been salt dried and also boraxed. From what I am told the salted cape started to wick moisture from the air and then borax was applied. I've never dealt with this before and I'm a little concerned.
Here's my question... Isn't the borax gonna kill my pickle? Should I totaly rehydrate and wash out all or most of the borax prior to placing in the pickle? I had planned on just dropping it into the pickle.
By the way I sifted through the archives. No shortage of replies when using the words borax and lutan f but never saw this covered.
