I want to start home taxidermy but tanning the hide is my biggest problem. What is the best way to tan hides. Is a tanning creme a good way to go or do i have to put the hide through a series of solutions for a good result.

Tanning is so easy to do, I hope this is not you're biggest problem. So many ways to tan, and they all work, so if you are learning, try three of four types to tanning products to find the one that "YOU" like to work with. When you date girls, you don't ask for who is "the best one" you try a few out, and if you don't find the one you want, you try some more. I like Lutan F, Liqua-tan, and Krowtann. Salt all your hides first till they dry out. then rehydrate then tan with krowtann.
