SOFT TANNING

I have a friends wife who makes parkas, and want me to tan some coyote hides to put around the hoods. I have some dried stretched hides, can I use liqua tan and liqua soft to make them soft enough to sew?

You must tan them with a garment safe tanning method If you don't want the person wearing it to break out in hives. I will suggest Rittels EZ 100. Order the EZ 100 Tanning kit. It is inexpensive. Although it is fairly easy to tan a hide it is not easy to get them soft. I could be wrong but I don't think that Liqua Tan is meant for rugging nor garments.

John has some good advice!

For "ruffs" on parkas - I'd highly reccommend using EZ-100 as the tanning agent. It's a washable tan and as long as you domt exceed 160 degrees Fahrienheit - it will not wash out. John gave you some good advice.

E-mail me if you need more advice! Our website is at http://Rittelspring .com,I dony thl so

Have a Merry Christmas!
