A pickle problem

Ive got a deer cape that's in the pickle right now. It's been shaved, and I was planning on taking it out and neutralizing and tanning it today. Problem is, I'm running out of time, due to a stupid horse, a fence, and some cows. Long story, BIG pain in my keester. I have to leave town tomorrow morning early ( I get to spend Christmas with my In-laws. HO HO HO, bring on the egg nog!) Any way, what are my options with this cape? I'm going to be gone until Sunday.I was thinking of neutralizing, drying, brush on the tan (liqua-tan) and let it dry while I'm away. Any other options? Oh yeah, I usually freeze after tanning, or mount right away. Thanks for the help. Happy Holidays to All! Be safe if you're traveling. Greg

What is the PH of the pickle? If it is stable in the pickle leave it in there till you get back. It won't hurt it.

Just leave it in the Pickle

It won't hurt a thing to leave it in the pickle ---it will last a lot longer than 'till Sunday

I forgot to mention that, the PH has been stable at 2. Thanks for the help. I'm actually going to get some sleep now tonight, YIPPEE!

You can still do your tanning w/liquatan...leave it set for 2-3hrs, then roll it up and freeze. It will continue penetrating as it freezes and when thawed, can be mounted immediately.
