I shipped a moose cape to the same tannery I have been using for the past ten years. I received a confirmation statement that the face had been broken during shipment. I called immediately and asked what this statement exactly meant. The person told me that the hide was too dry and part of the face broke off. I have shipped a couple of moose capes previously that I fleshed, salted, cleaned, resalted and folded for shipment without any problems. The employee told me not to worry too much yet since they have a master furrier on staff that can fix this problem. I am very nervous that this irreplaceable cape is ruined. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

maybe if it was a thin skin fox or smaller, yes possible. A moose cape ,and I tann my own,the would have had to run it over with something very heavy , like a forklift, something is not right.
