Heated Pickling Vat ?

It has been said that the best temp. to pickle is 75-80F. I find it hard to maintain this temp. in Summer months let alone in Winter. My shop is not heated 24/7 due to the high cost of propane.(-20F here this morning) Soaking in the house is out, due to the caustic nature of the solution. Always drips and spills. My question is: Does anyone use or know how to make a heated pickling vat?

"belt" heaters that are designed to wrap around 55 and 30 gallon barrels, they use these to heat oil stored in barrels and the oil won't be thick in the cold months. These might heat the vat to over 100 degrees though, but i think a rheostat would fix that.

Tank heaters for farm animals only heat to above freezing, and they have a thermostat in them that only kicks in when it gets cold.

You could go to napa and ask if they think a engine block heater would work, i know there are different types of engine heaters and one is designed to heat the coolant, that might work for you.

Submersible type for salt water. Let the Pet store Clerk know how many gallons you are heating.
