sodium sulfate-possible slippage

I recently bought some hides that appear to be sodium sulfate dried only. Have not been able to make contact with person yet, to be sure, but is not like my "salt" dried ones.
Reason for concern, is the first one that I picked up, has hair pulling out quite a bit. Is this from the sodium sulfate, maybe? If so, can I rehydrate, then salt and dry again, or will it not help to set the hair after this long of a time. They told me they had been done for a year.
My first buy and I don't want them to think I'm trying to rip them off, as they were nice enough to tell me to just try them.
The only other person, I spoke to that does this, said they only used it if they were going to immediately use spray on tan. I will be pickling and tanning.
Anyway, main question, CAN I rehydrate and salt? or SHOULD I rehydrate and salt? or what are my other options to be SURE the hair is set?
Thanks

Missed you here lately.

I doubt the sodium sulfate is the problem. More likely the failure to get it into or onto the area that slipped. You treat it just as you would a salted hide.

He's been keeping me busy since Christmas Eve! And with him laid up, I have been making the most of it! Plus, I decided that I did'nt have enough hobbies, so I added pheasant, quail and ducks to the farm.
I have been BUSY! haha But I have seen they are still ragging you regularly! : ) See ya at the world!
