1) i have a few deer hides that ive had salted for over a week now, meat + fat cut off, anyways these tow hides are pretty much rock hard but there are a few soft spots where the salt didnt make it hard, ive salted them 3-4 x's now. like grease spot or something but it is thin in this area with no fat to take off. will it be ok, or what should i do?
2) these same 2 hides i am shipping off to moyle tannery, they just need to be soft tanned for throw down rugs. what is the difference of taxidermy tanning and garment tanning. i am assuming this needs to be taxidermy tanned but unsure. thanks-paul
