no offense, but have you tried the archives. I know for a fact the instructions for Krowtann are there. You might want to try that first before someone goes nuts on you for asking that question. Happy searching. PS, and I quote "Leave the skin, flesh side out, in the tan for 3-4 days"
Now the total is 594

I am glad someone else brought up the word Krowtann ... I was afraid to.
I am an amateur and have always used Lutan F. Yesterday was my first attempt at using Krowtann (4th day). I always had a problem with hair slippage, but, I gotta say, with this stuff, I see no hair slippage at all. I almost believe it is impossible to mess up. The instructions are very clear.
Many thanks to all those who post helpful replies on this forum. I have learned alot from you.
Now that I sucked-up, I have a question ... you knew it was coming :)
It says, "flesh side out." I know what that means, and I tanned with the ears turned "flesh side out." First time ever for the ears and it seemed to work. My assumption is, I followed the directions exactly. Did I?
Thanks again to those who have the patience to help us amateurs!

Rick, in the directions you got with your krowtan kit ; did it say how long to soak a hide?
Doesn't ANYBODY READ anymore?
"Flesh side out, in the tan for 3-4 days." I soaked it for 4 days. I also lifted and turned it each day. It really worked great!
Note, I read in other messages that some had hides shrink in Krowtann. I measured the cape before and after and there was no shrinkage.

CA , didn;t you have the same directions in you kit as Rick got?
